Dance Marathon
On Saturday, February 1st, 2020, the Hudson chapter of National Honor Society hosted a mini dance marathon in support of the UNI Dance Marathon. This was the third year of this event and the goal was to raise $3,500.

Dance marathon is a movement involving college and high school students at more than 300 schools across North America, all raising money for a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in their area. Hudson high school students pledged to raise or donate money for the children at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. K-12 staff got involved, as well, by donating money in exchange for wearing casual attire for the cause. We were also very fortunate to have Bill Colwell Ford serve as our event sponsor for the third consecutive year. They made a $300 toward the fundraising effort.

The event kicked off at 7:00 p.m. with dancing, board games, games in the gym as well as concessions and raffles. We were honored to welcome two miracle families who shared their stories about the impact that University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital had impacted their lives. Shortly before 11:00 p.m.the fundraising total was revealed! The total amount raised was $3,557.72!

The money raised will be presented at the UNI Dance Marathon event to be held on Saturday, February 29th. They will add our total to what they have raised and send the proceeds to the Children’s Miracle Network and the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
