All State Release

Hudson High School vocalists Olivia Jursik and Levi Budreau have attained the highest individual honor available to Iowa high school musicians by being selected as members of the 2020 All-State Chorus. Olivia, a senior, is the daughter of Howard and Angela Jursik and was selected as an Alto I for the chorus. Levi, a junior, is the son of Danny and Julie Budreau and was selected as a Tenor II. Ashlyn Reynolds, a junior and daughter of Keith and Karen Reynolds, also auditioned as a Soprano II.

The 2020 Festival concert would have celebrated the 74th anniversary of this prestigious event. District Auditions for the 268-piece All-State Band, 211-piece All-State Orchestra, and 601- member All-State Chorus were held virtually October 22-24, 2020, at Le Mars, Hampton, Independence, Atlantic, Indianola, and Washington. While the 2020 All-State Music Festival Concert has been cancelled due to health safety concerns caused by the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, that in no way diminishes the accomplishment of the young musicians designated as members of the 2020 All-State Band, Choir, or Orchestra.

Due to similar health safety concerns, the Hudson High School vocal music department was unable to hold an in-person concert this fall. In lieu of a normal concert, the Hudson singers were able to record a virtual performance that is now available to be streamed online. You can find this performance online at https://hudsonpiratepride.anywhereseat.com/channel.php There is no cost to view this virtual performance, though $5 admission price is suggested. If you have any questions about how to access this performance, please contact Casey Tecklenburg at Hudson High School.
