NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS GIVEN: A Public Hearing will be conducted on the proposed plans and specifications, the proposed form of contract and the estimate of costs for a high school classroom mechanical ventilation improvement for Hudson Community School District at a School Boarding meeting to be held in the Hudson Community School Board Room, 136 S. Washington Street. Hudson, IA 50643, at 5:00 p.m. on the 19th of January 2022, at which time and place any person may appear and file objections to the proposed plans, specifications and form of contract and estimated costs of said project.

Sealed proposals for Hudson CSD HS classroom mechanical ventilation improvement will be received by Hudson Community Schools, in the School Board Room at 136 S. Washington Street, Hudson, IA 50643 before 2:00 p.m. CDT on the 10th day of February, 2022. The bids received and accompanied by the required Bid Security will be opened publicly immediately following at 2:05 p.m. and read aloud and then presented to the Hudson School Board at their regularly scheduled meeting on February 16, 2022 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Hudson Community School Board Room, 136 S. Washington Street. Hudson, IA 50643. The project consists of upgrading the mechanical ventilation units for the academic wing of the high school with energy recovery wheel, DX cooling, and gas fired units. The existing inoperable units will be removed, and new corresponding ductwork, piping, and electrical work will be installed per the contract documents.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, re-advertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the Hudson Community School District.The successful bidder will be required to furnish a bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid in the form of certified check, credit union share draft, or surety bond written on an original AIA Document A310, Bid Bond is required for this project, and must be submitted at the time of bid. The successful bidder will be required to provide surety Performance and Payment Bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum.

Plans and specifications governing the construction of said proposed improvements have been prepared by Modus Engineering, 214 E. 4th Street Waterloo, Iowa 50703, which plans and specifications referring to and defining said proposed improvements are hereby made a part of this notice and the proposed contract shall be executed to comply therein.
