Friday Board Bulletin 8/12/2022

Board Members:

It has been a very busy week! Monday we held what I believe will be our final task force meeting before the referendum. The purpose of this meeting was to work on the community engagement efforts that will need to be undertaken in order to educate the public about our plans if the vote is successful. This has been a long journey and believe it or not, by the time we meet for our September board meeting, the voters will have spoken and we'll have our answer.

Tuesday was the SIAC meeting and the group agreed that it is appropriate to continue to move the conversation forward regarding the hiring of an SRO in the district. Chief Banks will be in attendance at our meeting on Wednesday and is prepared to answer your questions.

Wednesday evening we held our first community forum for the referendum at St. Tim's. I was uncertain what kind of crowd to expect but was pleasantly surprised at the number of folks who took time to attend. Generally speaking, the group was composed of retirees. I felt their questions were good and they are thoughtfully considering their position on the ballot questions. Time will tell.

Our highlight of the week came yesterday when we welcomed our new faculty to the district. The induction process is designed to immerse our new employees in all things Hudson and to steep them in our values as an educational institution. It is no doubt an exciting time for us all!

Have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday!
