Friday Board Bulletin 11/9/18

Posted Date: 11/09/2018

Board Members:

What an incredible week! I don't know about you, but the second have of that game was a little bit stressful! This is a very exciting time for our community and a gives us a lot to be proud of. I look forward to seeing everyone next Thursday afternoon for the championship game.

Football game aside, there was still quite a bit going on this week. If you haven't forgotten, we had an election on Tuesday. I have already reached out to Representative-Elect Williams and invited him to our annual legislative luncheon with the NICL superintendent group at the end of the month. The 2019 legislative session will be here before we know it. On a related note, Kala and I will be headed to Des Moines for the Delegate Assembly Wednesday and plan to return that evening.

This week I also began my fall new teacher meetings, which will carry through next week. These are always great opportunities for me to connect one on one with our newest employees to not only see how the year is going for them so far, but to get to know them a bit better. For certain this has been one of the bright spots in my day!

Pirates Win!

The photo I am sharing is the student section at the end of the game today. The Pirates beat West Hancock-Britt 35-28 advancing to the state championship game. Our Pirates will play for the title at 1:30 on Thursday November 15th when they take on AHSTW, Avoca.

Have a great weekend!

Dr. Tony Voss, Superintendent
