Friday Board Bulletin 1/11/19

Posted Date: 01/11/2019

Board Members:

What a great first full week of school! We have had a chance to really get the second semester off to an outstanding start and develop routines for our students. I had the opportunity to complete coaching and evaluation meetings with the administrators and hear about the progress they are making on their goals. On Tuesday afternoon, Chad and I participated in what we believe will is the final due diligence call on our pending bond sale with Piper Jaffray and bound counsel.

Most of the day on Wednesday I was at Central Rivers AEA for our January superintendent meeting. We heard a great speaker by the name of Anthony Muhammed who talked about the steps to changing school culture. I am looking forward to sharing these findings with  you at some point in the near future. That afternoon I was able to get back to the district where our teachers were very hard at work in professional development. In the elementary school, work continued on implementation of the workshop model of delivery in literacy instruction and preparing for a new round of AIW sharing at the junior high/high school.

Mr. Dieken and I were on the road most of the day Friday, attending a meeting as the state capitol with Senators Sinclair and Kraayenbrink who are exploring ways in which to strengthen and improve the concurrent enrollment law.

I don't have a picture for you today, but instead will share a fun fact. Are you ready? Here it is: We served approximately 15,000 more meals first semester this year compared to first semester last year. How about them apples!

Have a great weekend! If you are looking for something fun to do, we host the annual Pirate wresting invitational all day on Saturday. Come check it out!
