Friday Board Bulletin 6/28/2019

Board Members:

Today is checkout day for the building principals. Hopefully they will now be able to enjoy a restful and relaxing vacation before returning to school on August 1st! At this point, all major hiring decisions have been made, evaluations have been completed, and yesterday afternoon we held our final administrative meeting of the year where we finalized logistics for the start of the school year.

Yesterday morning we were also introduced to the preferred candidate to assume hot lunch director duties for OPAA!. I granted my approval for the company to move ahead with hiring the candidate who will be moving to Hudson in the next few weeks. Thankfully her and her family have secured housing and they have a daughter who will be starting 7th grade with us.

Phase III continues to march forward and I continue to challenge our contractors, architect, and engineer regularly regarding the scope, rationale, and reason for why we are doing 'what we are doing'. I'm certain they find my oversight a bit meddlesome and likely want to run and hide when they see me coming. Sometimes they satisfy my curiosity, while other times they do not!

Next week we turn the page to July and our new fiscal year will begin. Happy fiscal year eve? Our work will begin to focus on registration and getting ready for the return of our teachers and students. We are also looking forward to rolling out our new online registration process, certainly this change in registration will create a new learning curve not only for our families, but for our offices as well.

Have a great  holiday and I look forward to seeing you around town!
