Friday Board Bulletin 7/12/2019

Posted Date: 07/12/2019

Board Members:

It has been a very exciting week! For starters our boys baseball team upset #7 ranked New Hampton on Monday night. Then on Wednesday, or girls softball team won their first round of regional action against Grundy Center. This was a huge milestone for this program as it marks their first regional win in over a decade! It has been a lot of fun to watch these girls play this summer. Tonight they will travel to North Linn for a 7:00 game. The boys received a first round bye, so will play their first game on Saturday night.

This week has also been very productive with the construction project. If you haven't had a chance to read my notes for the board meeting, you can check out all the details there. If you are interested, I'll give a tour of the construction site beginning at 5:30 on Monday.

Today I hope to have the bulk of the bus routes prepared. We'll be heading out beginning at 9:00 for final testing of 3 routes.

A couple of notes about your meeting preparation. On the agenda, the two highlighted items (5.2 and 6.2d) are notated as such because the exhibits are not yet prepared. This includes the July bill run for both the general and schoolhouse fund; and the facility update that includes the cash flow projections. Those exhibits or data for those exhibits are prepared by Kim who is on vacation this week. She is planning on coming in on Saturday to finish this work. I'll be camping with the family this weekend (yes, its going to be hot), so won't be able to finish the linkage until Monday morning. Exhibit 6.2d requires some additional work on my end, so it may be mid-morning before you see that one. Nevertheless, I do not anticipate this being a very lengthy meeting.

Both Traci and Matt are excused this month so I'll look forward to seeing the rest of you on Monday at the meeting. Remember, if you are interested in a tour, plan on arriving around 5:30. I do have the agenda prepared in a way that makes this entirely appropriate.

softball team in the dugout during a rain delay

The photo I am sharing this week is from the Wednesday softball game in Grundy Center, where our Pirates knocked the Spartans out of the tournament with a 6-3 win. This was during a rain delay when Mr. Wuzer and I took shelter with the team in the dugout!

Have an awesome weekend!
