Friday Board Bulletin 5/22/2020

Board Members:

Thank you for a great meeting on Monday evening. Your thoughtful deliberation and questions are very helpful as we plan for reopening our schools in the fall and prepare for Return to Learn. Our work continues to center on these issues and no doubt will continue over the summer and into the fall.

Perhaps the biggest news of the week is the governor announcing the suspension of summer activities for high school would be lifted on June 1. This new order applies to high school baseball and softball only. Immediately following this announcement, the governing bodies of each athletic association met and announced the resumption of these activities. I'll admit that I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, I am very happy for our student athletes and thrilled they will have the opportunity to begin a sense of normalcy with competition. On the other hand, I am a bit nervous about how this is all going to work out. Nevertheless, I am confident we'll get it figured out!

That's all for now. Have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing you at the ball diamond!
