Friday Board Bulletin 12/9/2021

Board Members:

I wanted to remind you that our board meeting will be held on Monday next week. At your request from the last meeting, we will have a couple of scheduled visitors on the agenda. Following the HEF presentation at 5:30, I have built in a brief recess. If you have snacks to bring for the evening, please come a bit early and we'll set that up in my office. I'll have a power strip to plug in your items! I do anticipate our meeting will probably be a bit longer than an hour, but there is a 7-12 music concert that night that I would like to get to. 

On Tuesday evening the early childhood team and I hosted a public meeting to hear from parents regarding our early childhood program and to gather input on our next steps. I was pleasantly surprised with the attendance at the meeting and the comments we heard. The point of the meeting was not to make any decisions or to come in with a plan on how to move forward, but rather for the parents to hear what we were thinking, some challenges we face, and to hear their concerns and ideas. In that regard, I believe the meeting to be a great success. The team and I will be meeting next week to begin laying out options to move forward. Once we think we have some good options, we'll probably host another public meeting to gather additional input. 

I'm out of the district today at a BoEE meeting. Have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing you on Monday.
