Friday Board Bulletin 7/20/18

Posted Date: 07/20/2018

Board Members:

I hope this afternoon finds you all well and looking forward to Hudson Days this weekend. it has been a very busy week here at school, with a lot of progress on Phase II of the elementary renovation project. In other good news, the air conditioner arrived on Monday and the crew from Hudson Hardware has been at it pretty steady since. We have a high level of confidence it will be installed in time for the work week to begin on Monday!

Yesterday I was in Des Moines for a symposium titled, 'Effective Labor Relations'. The day was co-sponsored by both ISEA and SAI. I am hopeful the ideas gleaned from this day will be useful in our labor/management committee for this school year. I was also very happy to see that Mrs. Seekins attended.

I left Des Moines yesterday afternoon in the midst of all the severe weather impacting the state. I was about 5-10 minutes in front of the tornado that hit Marshalltown. Truth be told, I almost stopped in Marshalltown to wait it out but glad now that I didn't. I ended up turning into Hudson just as a torrential downpour started. This rain should be good for my lawn, but enough already!

Phase II Elementary Renovation Hallway

The photo I am sharing today is an update from the elementary renovation project. Today is the first day they have turned the new lights on in the hallway. With the new coat of pain it really brightens up the space!

Have a great weekend!
