Hudson Announces New Before and After School Childcare Partnership

HUDSON, IA — The Hudson Community School District is partnering with St. Timothy Preschool & Childcare and is excited to expand childcare services beginning in the 2025-26 school year. The new partnership will expand before and after school care for Hudson students.
St. Timothy Preschool & Childcare will continue its current program at the church, plus partner with Hudson CSD to provide additional before and after school care at Hudson elementary school.
“We’re excited to build on the strong foundation of before and after school childcare in our community,” said Dr. Tony Voss, Superintendent. “This partnership will give families expanded access to quality care and support student success both in and out of the classroom.”
St. Timothy Preschool & Childcare onsite program will run from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., continue its Early Childhood Program for children ages 18 months to 10 years, provide school-age care for up to 30 children, primarily in kindergarten and first grade, and offer care on no-school days, including snow days and late starts, for up to 30 school-aged children from St. Timothy and Hudson. Hudson CSD will provide transportation to and from the school.
In addition, St. Timothy will operate a separate before and after school childcare program during the school year for students in kindergarten through sixth grade at Hudson Elementary. This program will operate before and after school, utilizing the ‘small gym’ and will open at 6:30 a.m. The after school program will be open until 6:00 p.m.
A school-aged care registration & orientation meeting will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at St. Timothy Lutheran Church. Childcare will be provided until 6:30 p.m.
Open house opportunities will be available for families to visit the new Hudson CSD location and meet St. Timothy staff before the start of the school year.
