Hudson School Board Meeting Summary of Action-July 15, 2026

The Board of Directors met on July 19, 2026 for their regular monthly meeting and discussed numerous topics. Among items discussed included:
The adoption of a consent resolution approving the hiring of Averi Weichers, Assistant VB; Addy Carlson, Assistant Cross Country; Mayay Hoppes, High School Cheerleading; and Sheila Hesse, Junior High Volleyball; approve the property and casualty insurance renewal totaling $287,361.
Discussed recent legislative changes that are in effect, including 8th grade participation in high school athletics and held a first reading on multiple polices impacted by those legislative changes.
Discussed preliminary results of the end of FY2026, noting that operating revenue currently sits at $11.9M; expenditures at $11.4M. It was noted by Dr. Voss that we are in the 'hold open' period and outstanding receipts and encumbrances remain.
Approved the legislative platform to consider local control, school funding policy, property taxes, and unfunded mandates as priority positions.
Approved the 2026-2027 handbooks (handbooks can be found on this page of our school website).
Approved the renewal of our SRO agreement with the City of Hudson.
Commendations
Thanks to the National Honor Society for giving up some of their free time this summer to conduct a blood drive at the high school.
Thanks and appreciation to the Hudson Police Department for scheduling and hosting the ALERT training held recently at Hudson Schools. We are grateful for our police department and proud to partner with them in this incredibly important training.
