Hudson School Board Meeting Summary of Action-September 16, 2026

The Hudson Board of Directors meet on September 16, 2026 for a regular meeting. The following is provided for our community’s information and is meant merely meant to summarize at a high level those actions deemed of most interest to the community. The information contained herein should not be considered exhaustive or final until the board adopts meeting minutes at its next regularly scheduled meeting.
Reports
Dr. Voss provided an update on the financial status of school district general fund at the close of FY2026 and the highlights from the annual certified annual financial report.
- General Fund revenue stands at $12,150,030 compared to a budgeted revenue stream of $12,079,035. This means we have exceeded expectations by $70,995.
- General Fund expenditures are currently performing at $11,795,890 compared to a budgeted amount of $12,091,139. At this point, we have exceeded expectations by a margin of $296,249.
Several other items were discussed including work in curriculum and instruction and possible efforts to replace the current ELA curriculum, school improvement and the fidelity of implementation of the district professional development plan, and property tax reform modeling scenarios.
Action
- In a consent resolution, approved requests for early graduation and the annual trip to the National FFA Convention
- Approved SBRC requests for MSA of $442,275.57 for the special education deficit and $24,146.08 for excess EL Costs

- Congratulations to the Hudson High School Student Council for earning the Iowa High School Champion Award for 2A schools during the 2025-2026 school year for most units of blood donated!
