Hudson Elementary

New Entrance at Night

Hudson Elementary School serves approximately 400 students from PK-6 grade. In the fall of 2020, the district completed a three year multi-million dollar renovation of the facility facility, the centerpiece being a new secured entrance and expanded commons area. All classrooms are fully climate controlled and state of the art instructional spaces designed to give maximum flexibility to our instructors.

Our Core Purpose and Mission is to Create Effective Learning Environments that Result in Success for All Students. We achieve this through small class sizes and our attention to differentiating instruction for all our students. Most grade levels at Hudson Elementary are staffed with three classroom teachers with average section sizes <20 students.

Kindergarten learningWhile our elementary program offers a comprehensive academic program, primary emphasis is on literacy and math. Literacy instruction uses a balanced approach where students receive direct and specific instruction in vocabulary, comprehension, independent reading and writing. Mathematics focus on number relationships, computation, geometry, measurement, statistics, data analysis and algebra. Additionally, students receive instruction in music, band, technology, art, physical education, and time in the media center.

School begins at 8:05 and ends at 3:15. The typical school day includes both breakfast and lunch with age appropriate recess throughout the school day. Before and after school child care is offered through the YMCA or through St. Timothy Lutheran Church. While the YMCA program is hosted on campus, St. Tim’s is hosted at their facility, however bus transportation is provided.
