Friday Board Bulletin 10/7/1022

Board Members:

I hope you have all had a great week! If you are planning to attend the final home game of the season tonight, make sure you dress warm. It looks like it is going to get cold!

Ann and I had a great vacation last week. While we had originally planned on a trip to Florida, the hurricane would have made that an unwise decision. Instead, we went to Utah where we were able to hike Arches, Capitol Reef, and Canyonlands. It was great to get away! We have one more (hopefully) trip planned later in October and that should get me all caught up on vacation days.

While I am lucky insofar as I don't need to prepare lesson plans when I am gone, all my work is still waiting when I return since there isn't anyone around to do it for me! It is particularly challenging during this time of year since both September and October are busy months with state reporting.

Perhaps the most important state reporting is occurring right now with certified enrollment. We are in pretty good shape headed into the weekend. With one week until certification is required, there are just a few minor issues to clear up. As we anticipated, enrollment is definitely up across the board. The other big reports that are taking significant time this month include two batches of BEDS (Basic Educational Data Survey), and the 'consolidated application', which is the plan for how we anticipate utilizing our federal funds.

We also spent some time this week with the architects on Monday, and on Wednesday we continued our work on the evaluation of our TAG (talented and gifted program). It has been a very busy, yet productive week!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and maybe I'll see you at the game tonight!
