Friday Board Bulletin 11/4/2022

Board Members:

I hope you are all enjoying this wet Friday! We've had a great week of weather and need the rain so I'm just fine with it! Last night the NHS held their 'Turkey Trot' 1.5 mile race at the sports complex and I think they had a great turnout. When Mr. Dieken told me he was going to be in costume as a turkey I didn't believe him. True to his work, he was in full costume!

Mr. Wagner wanted me to remind (and encourage) you to please fill out the questionnaire from the auditors if you haven't done so already. Our audit is currently scheduled for November 22 and will mostly be done virtually. I'll schedule a post audit review after we finalize our committee assignments at the next board meeting.

The other big news of the week is that Officer Currica began his assignment as SRO for the district on Tuesday. Most of this week he has been stationed in the high school, attending classes and eating lunch with students. His primary directive for right now is developing relationships with the students. So far, the feedback has been very positive.

On Tuesday we had a construction meeting and I really think we are starting to zero in on the site plan for the high school renovation and addition. Our next meeting is scheduled for November 22 from 9-11 in the boardroom if you are interested. I would also like to draw your attention to the November board agenda. Item (6.2d) contains the exhibits and documents that we have been working from in the development of the site plan. There are two documents for review, one being the site plan and the other being the parking lot plan. I would like to plan on discussing these briefly at our November meeting before scheduling a longer discussion/work session in tandem with our December meeting. If anything jumps out at you or questions and concerns surface, I'd like to get in front of them before we get too much further along in our planning.

That is all for now! Have a great weekend!
