Friday Board Bulletin 2/17/2023

Board Members:

Thank you for your hard work on Wednesday night! We accomplished a lot and the feedback and input that you provided was welcomed! I know our meeting ran a little long, and unfortunately all our meetings are probably going to run a bit longer as we run up to the start of summer. But, the work you are doing will be long lasting and legacy building!

On Monday I had the opportunity to travel to the capitol (yes, we'll call it an opportunity) for a meeting with Senator Ken Rozenboom who is the Chair of the Senate Education Committee. Our discussion focused largely on BoEE issues, but I did have a chance to visit with him on a wide array of topics. Comparatively speaking, this week was relatively shorter than previous weeks due largely to the winter storm that blew through on Thursday. We do see some positive signs, particularly with regard to operational sharing incentives being restored and there appears to be renewed interest in changing the weighting for preschool students, which has been a big priority for the district over the last several years. Here is the video that gives a synopsis of the work done this week.

Oh, if you see van six driving around the Cedar Valley this weekend, it has been assigned to Bryant. Unfortunately an employee put some diesel in the tank and after visiting with the mechanic, he suggested we run the tank dry while continuing to monitor the oil and other systems. I am not really interested in having one of our drivers have this on the road with kids in it and have a problem. If Bryant has to walk on the other hand….

Have a great weekend!
