Friday Board Bulletin 7/7/2023

Board Members:

I hope you are all doing well and had a great holiday! I have not had a lot of office time this week so this is really my first chance to get caught up on what has been going on around the district. I was in Iowa City for appointments with Ann on Monday and Friday. She is doing well right now so I am very thankful. They are looking to start the third round of chemo a week from Monday and so far the treatments have been effective. My dad passed away last week following a lengthy illness and we had his funeral on Wednesday. It was a great celebration of his life!

Thursday and, well right now I have been here in the office. The construction project continues, and as I mentioned last week we are battling material delays and contractors who are on a different schedule than I am. I wrote about what to expect with the coming year in my blog this week, which you can read right here

We spent quite a bit of time yesterday working on the finishing touches for registration material. At this point we anticipate launching the registration process next week. I think we are in a good spot. Crystal officially took over as elementary principal on Monday and I had a couple of hours to spend with her before heading off to Iowa City. She has hit the ground running, filling two paraprofessional positions and long term substitute teaching assignments. She is eager to meet you, and I have her on the schedule for our August board meeting.

That is about all for now. It has been a rough 6 months, but I am very optimistic! Have a great weekend!
