Friday Board Bulletin 9/15/2023

Board Members:

I hope that you all had a great week. Just a couple of quick highlights for you as we head into the weekend. First, I had the opportunity to have Mrs. Betts join me at the Chamber meeting on Wednesday. It was a great opportunity for her to meet additional community members and to see some of our parents in a different setting. 

Last night I had the opportunity to attend a child care public forum sponsored by St. Timothy Church. The genesis of the meeting was to discuss the child care shortage that we have in Hudson, driven in part by our growth as a community. St. Timothy is at capacity and they are seeking a community wide solution to what is a growing shortage. While there are no immediate answers to the problem, we have agreed, at least in principle to continue the conversation. I suspect this is the beginning of a community wide task force. I was also pleased at the acknowledgement that this isn't a school district problem to solve (in many communities it is perceived as a school district problem). Even so, I emphasized that the district will be a willing collaborator and are happy to be a partner in this work.
