Friday Board Bulletin 10/13/2023

Board Members:

I hope you have had a good week. I have been out of the district quite a bit this week as Ann has had some doctor appointments. Today we'll be in Iowa City again to visit with her oncologist. That follows another biopsy this past Monday. While these cycles are unfortunately beginning to feel somewhat routine, there is no doubt anxiety and stress leading up to them. I continue to be appreciative of the board for your continued support! 

Yesterday I had the opportunity to serve on the selection committee for Iowa's Superintendent of the Year, so I found myself in Des Moines most of the day. I was grateful to be back in time for our final home football game of the season. Even though it was wet and cold!

Looking ahead to next week, I want to remind you of our board meeting on Wednesday. Both Matt and Amy have prior commitments that night, so just a gentle reminder that we can't really start the meeting until we have a quorum, which will take the remaining 3 members. We will plan on meeting in the high school commons at 5:00 p.m. and will begin with a tour of the construction site. We'll be outdoors to start out, so please be mindful of the weather. It is also quite dirty and dusty outside so I would recommend you choose shoes that you are not all that concerned about getting dirty. Finally, please understand this is a hard hat area so you will need to wear a hard hat, which will be provided for you.
