Friday Board Bulletin 5/17/19

Board Members:

I'm sending the bulletin out early this week since tomorrow I have my monthly BoEE meeting and by the time I return home the festivities of the weekend will be upon us! It seems we have had a dose of summertime weather today, so it has been a nice test run of our air conditioning systems. This morning here in the office we were recalling last year when we went most of the summer without air conditioning! What a relief this has been!

It has been a very busy week with preparations for graduation taking quite a bit of our energy. A huge shout out to our maintenance department for handling all the heavy lifting for this event!

With graduation this weekend there are some times that you need to be aware of. As a start, baccalaureate is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. This is not a school sponsored event, but if you would like to attend please feel free. The board won't be sitting together during this, so it is all your choice. Graduation begins at 3:00 p.m., so please be here by 2:45. We'll line up in the little gym so I'll look forward to seeing you there.

Monday evening we have our board meeting. While there are a number of items to discuss and take action on, for the most part this is a routine meeting. However, in honor of school board appreciation month, we will be having dinner brought in for you. We'll have it ready to go by 5:30 p.m. so that we you can enjoy a peaceful meal before our business meeting begins. On that note, if you have any conflicts with Monday night please let me know. At this time, both Traci and Dave have noted conflicts so it will be important the remaining members are present so we have a quorum.

Bike rodeo

The photo I am sharing today is from the bike rodeo held on Tuesday this week. We have partnered with the Safe Routes to School group for the last couple of years and hold this event for our students as a prelude to summer and a reminder about bicycle safety. The culminating event was held this morning when the 6th graders took a ride on the bike trail. After they got back they told me it was almost too hot!

Have an enjoyable weekend, I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
