Friday Board Bulletin 8/30/2019

Posted Date: 08/30/2019

Board Members:

Is the right term 'picking up steam'? If that true, this week we have really started to make headway! While the first day of school is more about getting our students to and from school with a full belly, the expectations increase exponentially after that! It has been a great week of establishing routines and beginning instruction in earnest! It has been a real joy watching our schools come to life this year!

Wednesday was an important day for our faculty and staff as we finally saw the return of professional development. One member of the staff remarked how weird it felt since we hadn't had professional development since last March! Kind of makes me cringe just a bit when I think about the winter we had!

While we have punch list items remaining from our summer work, much of the Phase III project has shifted back to the addition and other outdoor work. Around noon today we'll have a crane setting DOAS 1 & 2. It will be very nice to have those units out of the way in time for the football game tonight.

Our volleyball team started action this week ranked #4 in their class and it appears they have gotten off to a great start. I had a chance to watch them play last night and they were very dominant. We very excited for this team and the season in front of them. Tonight our defending state champion football team will be in action beginning at 7:00 this evening here at home. I hope to see you there!

Kindergarten PE-hearing about the rules and expectations

The picture I am sharing this week is from kindergarten PE class. Mrs. Andera is our new K-8 teacher at this level and is explaining the rules to the students. She is doing a great job keeping their attention in spite of the fact they want to get on with the activity!

I do hope you all have a restful Labor Day weekend and are able to have some fun with your family and friends. This is the unofficial end of summer, so enjoy it! As for me, I'm looking forward to some college football tomorrow!
