Friday Board Bulletin 10/23/2020

Posted Date: 10/23/2020

Board Members:

Congratulations to all our athletes who are enjoying postseason success right now! I was particularly impressed with the dominant performance of our volleyball team on Wednesday night against Cascade. We'll travel to Dyersville on Monday to take on the Beckman Blazers at 7:00 p.m. It should be a competitive matchup! Congratulations are also in order for both our boys and girls country teams who qualified for the state meet next weekend!

All State music auditions are this weekend, and being done in a virtual format. Best of luck to our musicians as they compete for a spot in the prestigious All-State band and chorus.

What is most surprising to me is that today marks the end of the first quarter. Frankly, it kind of caught me off guard. At this point in the school year, I am happy that we have managed the challenges of this school  year as well as we have. Certainly this is no time to relax our procedures, particularly with regard to how the county and state are performing right now. I think a tip of the hat is in order for you, and the Board's decisive action to implement the protocols that we currently have in place and your wise decision to reopen school fully on August 24. It has proved to be a good decision. Here is our COVID update for the week. Have an enjoyable weekend. Me, I'm looking forward to some B1G football tomorrow!
