Friday Board Bulletin 11/6/2020

Posted Date: 11/06/2020

Board Members:

I want to begin today by congratulating our girls cross country team for capturing the state title on Saturday! We all enjoyed welcoming them home for their fire truck parade on Sunday afternoon, and I didn't even mind missing part of the Vikings game to participate in the festivities. (Of course it is also worth noting the Vikings did end up beating the Packers, so in my book this was a very good day!) Speaking of good days, did you have a lot of trick or treaters on Saturday? It was sure a nice day and I saw a lot of kids at my house! We actually ran out of candy around 6:15, so I guess we'll need to make an adjustment for next year!

Our week has largely been consumed with managing the COVID-19 numbers in our school district. We did start to receive some inquiries of concern about how we would make a change in model, so I sent out a note on Wednesday that outlines our current thinking with regard to this. If you haven't seen the memo, please click here. We'll discuss this at our meeting on November 16th (one week from Monday) and I'll have the building principals in attendance to walk you through our steps. Hopefully we'll make it to November 16th without needing to make any changes. We'll have a number of students returning next week so I am cautiously optimistic, but weekends tend to be problematic for us.

Have a great weekend. It is going to be nice tomorrow, so I am thinking about hanging my Christmas lights!
